This is a round, walnut brown basket with no handle. It is approximately 3/4″ wide and 5/16″ deep. (19mm wide and 8mm deep)
Here I placed a vintage porcelain earing into the basket to simulate a flower arrangement. I’m definitely going to work on some colorful flowers for display here. This is also a great basket for the table, perhaps full of dinner rolls or fruit. As a storage basket, it could hold sewing notions or other odds and ends. The nice open top would show off whatever contents you provide!

This is the first of several tall storage baskets that will have a home in my Medieval castle. It is woven in the traditional looking walnut brown wicker, which I love. They will look terrific filled with assorted fruits and vegetables. I think it would also look great storing anything tall and vertical. With a lid, and maybe a bit of decorative weave in the body, it is a laundry hamper! Going to have to play around with the lid idea, as I suspect that is also proper for a storage basket.
This storage basket is approximately 1and 5/8″ wide and 2 and 1/16″ tall. (42mm wide and 52mm tall) So for one inch scale, this would be about 20″ wide and just over 2 feet (25″) tall in “real life.” Perfect next to a 3′ counter or market stall!

Here is one of the black wicker baskets I have completed. It is tough to get a good picture of the weave on this dark color. I like this basket as a serving or a storage basket. The black color is great for offsetting the colorful contents, so maybe a basket of tortilla chips or shiny red apples? It’s a good size for a colorful plant. I think that the black is a more modern look compared to the more traditional browns. Naturally, it would look terrific in a Halloween setting!
This square basket is approximately 7/8″ wide and 9/16″ tall. (22mm wide and 14mm tall) It’s small enough to be a tabletop basket in one inch scale and a large storage or planter in half scale.

This is a round storage basket in walnut brown. I worked in side handles from the linen thread, but they look a bit skimpy for the basket, I think. It measures 1 1/8″ wide and 1″ tall. (28mm wide and 22mm high)
I made several versions of this basket at first, as I think they will make terrific storage in my medieval castle. I figured the first experiments can end up in a dark corner of the larder/cellar! I have been working on other shapes recently, but when I get back to these, I will try for sturdier handles.

This round storage basket is woven in butterscotch with two side handles along the rim. It is 1 1/2″ wide and 5/8″ tall, with an extra 1/8″ for the handles. (37mm wide by 15mm tall, plus 3mm handles)
This is a good gathering basket, in my opinion. The short, wide interior really shows off the contents of the basket. I used matching butterscotch spokes, instead of the contrasting walnut brown spokes that I used for some baskets. I really like the idea of the handles here, but not the actual handles. Little monsters! If you look at the bigger picture, you can really see how much trouble they gave me. O well… it’s a used basket whose handles have seen better days!
